Calendula, calendula officinalis, is commonly used topically to speed tissue healing after injuries, burns, and bruises. It is a useful remedy for dry skin, eczema, and hemorrhoids and can ease pain in minor injuries when applied topically. Calendula is a wonderful remedy for gastrointestinal inflammation and is almost specific for Crohn's disease, colitis, and gastritis.
Warnings: Internal use is contraindicated in pregnancy. Topical use is completely safe.
Can be taken as tea, tincture, glycerite, or topically.
