Horehound, Marrubium vulgare, has traditionally been used to make cough drops or cough syrup. Horehound drops can still be found in some stores. It increases the secretion of thinner mucus to break up congestion. It is a great remedy for coughing, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. It stimulates digestion and has a mild cardiac effect.
Use with caution during pregnancy.
This can be taken as an infusion or tincture.
