Sea buckthorn, Hippophae rhamnoides, is abundant in vitamin A, C, and E, and high levels of Sulphur, selenium, zinc, and copper. The berries are used to help improve resistance to infection. Mildly astringent, the berries can treat skin irritation and eruptions, and promote healing. The berries also support heart and circulatory health and are useful in helping to treat capillary fragility, atherosclerosis, and a weak heart.
The berries can be taken as a decoction or used to make a topical oil.
